Install slug (30) to spool (29).
Install the O-ring seal to access plug (31) .
Install access plug (31) and spool (29) to valve housing (3) .
Install O-ring seal (27) and shims (26) to cover (25) .
Improper assembly of parts that are spring loaded can cause bodily injury.To prevent possible injury, follow the established assembly procedure and wear protective equipment.
Install the bolts, the clip, cover (25) and spring (28) to valve housing (3). Note the position of the clip.
Tighten the bolts to a torque of 30 7 N m (22 5 lb ft).

Install the O-ring seal to access plug (24). Install access plug (24) and valve (23) to valve housing (3) .

Install retainer (22), spring (21), and valve ball (20) to spool (18) .

Use Tooling (A) in order to install the snap ring to spool (18) .

Install the O-ring seal to access plug (15). Install access plug (15) and spring (16) to valve housing (3) .
Install slug (17) to spool (18) .
Install spool (18) and stop (19) to valve housing (3) .

Install cover (6) and O-ring seal (7) to body (5) .
Install access plug (11) and the O-ring seal to body (5) .
Install spring (10), shims (9), inner piston (8), and outer piston (8) to body (5) .
Install spring (14), orifice (13), and O-ring seal (12) to body (5) .

Position body (5) to valve housing (3) .
Install the bolts that secure body (5) to valve housing (3) .

Position cover (4) to valve housing (3). Install the four bolts and cover (4) to valve housing (3). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 30 7 N m (22 5 lb ft).

Install solenoid coil (1) to valve housing (3). Install the nut on solenoid coil (1) .
The cartridge assembly must be tightened to 80 5 N m (59 4 lb ft). Tighten the nut that secures the solenoid coil to the cartridge assembly. The nut must be tightened to a torque of 9 .5 N m (78 5 lb in).
Install O-ring seals (2) to valve housing (3) .End By: Install the lockup clutch and solenoid valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Lockup Clutch and Solenoid Valve - Install".
