Diesel engine exhaust contains products of combustion which may cause personal injury.Always start and operate the engine in a well ventilated area, and, if in an enclosed area, vent the exhaust to the outside.
For maximum service life of the machine, always make a walk-around inspection of the machine. The walk around inspection must be done before you mount the machine in order to start the engine.Look around the machine and under the machine for items such as loose bolts, trash, oil leaks, coolant leaks, broken parts or worn parts.Inspect the condition of the attachments. Inspect the condition of the hydraulic components.
Accumulated grease and oil on a machine is a fire hazard. Remove this debris with steam cleaning or high pressure water, at least every 1000 hours or each time any significant quantity of oil is spilled on the machine.
Wipe all fittings, all caps, and all plugs, before you service the machine.Note: Keep a close watch for leaks. If any leaks are observed, find the source of the leak. Repair the leak. Check the fluid levels more frequently than the recommended interval if you suspect a leak.

The engine air inlet is on the left side of the machine.
Inspect the engine air inlet for any debris or obstructions. Clean the engine air inlet if debris or an obstruction has accumulated.

The engine air filter service indicator is most easily accessed from the operator's platform. The front left access door provides easy access to the engine air filter service indicator.
When the engine is at fast idle, inspect the engine air filter service indicator. When you observe that the yellow piston is in the red zone, the engine air inlet needs to be serviced. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Air Filter Primary Filter Element - Clean/Replace". Stop the engine before you service the engine air precleaner.

Inspect the conveyors for wear. Inspect the conveyors for damage. The conveyors may show the following signs of wear or damage: loose drag bars or broken drag bars, jerky movement of the conveyor and excessive wear on drive sprockets. Repair the conveyors if the conveyors are worn or damaged.

Inspect the auger conveyor segments for damaged components or worn components. The corners of the auger segments should be square. As the augers wear with use, the thickness and diameter may become smaller. When the edge of the auger wears to a point, the auger needs to be replaced.
Check the machine for loose wiring. Check the machine for frayed wiring.
Inspect the lights for broken bulbs. Inspect the lights for broken lenses. Replace the bulbs or the lenses if the bulbs or the lenses are broken.
