Personal injury can result from performing service on the track roller frame.Refer to Special Instruction, SMHS8273 for inspection and removal procedures before performing any service.

Lower the temperature of two bearings (1) . Install the bearings in the sides of the track roller frame.

ApplyTooling (C) on the outer diameter of seal (2) . Use a press in order to install seal (2) in retainer (3) .

Note: Retainer (4) is a press fit in seal (2) . The retainer will not rotate after installation. Retainer (4) must be oriented correctly with retainer (3) during installation. The bolt holes in both of the retainers must be aligned with the bolt holes in the track roller frame and in the frame of the machine before assembly.
Use the following procedure in order to align and assemble the two retainers:
Position Tooling (A) against the inside of the holes in retainer (3) . See Illustration 3. In order to obtain accurate measurements, make sure that the threaded rods (Tooling (A) ) are against the inside of the bolt holes.
Measure the distance from one threaded rod to bolt hole (5) in the retainer. Record the dimension.
Measure the distance from the other threaded rod to bolt hole (6) in the retainer. Record the dimension.
Compare the dimensions from Step 3.b and from Step 3.c. If the dimensions are not equal, rotate retainer (4) on retainer (3) . Measure the dimensions again. Repeat this procedure until both dimensions are equal.
Make a mark (7) on seal (2) and on retainer (4) in order to facilitate assembly.

Apply 5P-3413 Sealant to retainer (4) . Position the two retainers in a press. Check the alignment marks.
Use the press and Tooling (B) in order to install retainer (3) on retainer (4) . Use the press and Tooling (B) in order to install seal (2) on retainer (4) .

Lower the temperature of plate (8) . Install the plate evenly with retainer (3) .

Turn over the retainer, and install O-ring seal (9) .

Place the retainer on the track roller frame. Install bolts (10) .
Install the single flange rollers and the double flange rollers in the original positions. See the procedure in Disassembly and Assembly, "Track Roller - Install" in this module.
