Inspect the Machine
For your own protection and maximum service life of the machine, make a thorough walk-around inspection before mounting the machine to start the engine.Look around and under the machine for such items as loose bolts, trash build-up, oil or coolant leaks. Inspect the condition of the attachments and hydraulic components. 1. Inspect the air filter element indicator. Change the filter element when the yellow diaphragm enters the red zone in the indicator. 2. Inspect the engine precleaner bowl for dirt build-up. Empty the bowl when at or above the full line. 3. Inspect the attachments for damage or excessive wear. Repair if damaged.4. Inspect the attachment cylinders and linkage for damage or excessive wear. Repair if damaged.5. Inspect the lights for broken bulbs and lenses. Replace if broken. 6. Inspect and remove any trash build-up on the radiator guard.7. Inspect the cooling system for leaks, faulty hoses and trash build-up. Correct any leaks and remove any trash. 8. Inspect the engine compartment for leaks and trash build-up. Correct any leaks and remove any trash.9. Inspect the steps, walkways and handholds for their condition and cleanliness. 10. Inspect the hydraulic system for leaks. Correct any leaks. 11. Inspect the final drives for leaks. Check the oil level if leakage is noticed. 12. Be sure the covers and guards are firmly in place. Inspect for damage.13. Inspect the transmission for leaks. Correct any leaks.14. Inspect the tracks for damage, looseness, tightness and excessive wear. Correct if needed. 15. Inspect the operator's compartment for cleanliness. Keep it clean. 16. Inspect the instrument panel for broken gauges and indicator lights. Replace if broken. 17. Inspect seat belt and mounting hardware.Engine Crankcase
Measure the Oil Level
The crankcase oil level dipstick is located on the left side of the engine. The oil level can be measured on either side of the dipstick as shown below. Engine stopped: With the oil cold, maintain the oil level to the SAFE STARTING RANGE on ENGINE STOPPED (1) side of the dipstick.Engine Running: With the engine at low idle and the oil warm, maintain the oil level between the ADD and FULL marks on LOW IDLE (2) side of the dipstick. 1. Remove the oil filler cap if necessary to add oil.2. Add oil as required.3. Clean and install the cap. 4. Check the dipstick to verify the oil quantity.Power Train Oil System
