1. Insert three of the bolts, that held outer bearing housing (10) and inner bearing housing (14) in place, into the blind holes in inner bearing housing (14).2. Turn the bolts in equally. 3. As soon as there is enough gap between the drum head and inner bearing housing (14), attach a hoist and chain to inner bearing housing (14). Weight of inner bearing housing (14) and the eccentric weight assembly is approximately 121 kg (267 lbs.). 4. Slide a 2440 mm (8 ft.) pipe over the shaft end (12). This pipe will be used to counter balance the bearing housing and eccentric weight assembly. 5. Apply downward force to the pipe to keep eccentric weight assembly horizontal.6. Turn the pusher bolts in until inner bearing housing (14) is free of the drum. 7. Using the hoist, back inner bearing housing (16) and eccentric weight assembly out of the drum. Continue to counter balance the eccentric weight assembly with the pipe. 8. Remove the bolts and washers holding shaft end (12) in place. 9. Slide the eccentric weight assembly out of inner bearing housing (14). 10. Set inner bearing housing (14) on a clean, hard surface flange side up. 11. Make matching scribe marks on plate (19), bearing housing (18), and the drum head on the propel side of the drum. 12. Remove the bolts and washers holding plate (19) in place. 13. Place three of the bolts and washers on the blind holes in plate (19).14. Turn the bolts in equally until plate (19) is free of drum. 15. Insert three of the bolts and washers, that held plate (19) and bearing housing (18) in place, into the blind holes in bearing housing (18).16. Turn the bolts in equally. 17. As soon as there is enough gap between the drum head and bearing housing (18) attach a hoist and chain to bearing housing (18). Weight of bearing housing (18) is approximately 32 kg (70 lbs.). 18. Use the hoist to remove bearing housing (18). Set bearing housing on blocks, flange side up. The following steps apply to bearing housings (14) and (18).19. Rotate the inner race of the vibratory bearing (13) by hand. The race should rotate smoothly with no sign of binding.20. Examine bearing surfaces for scoring, gouging, or other signs of damage. 21. Insert a feeler gauge between the bearing rollers and the outer race, all the way through the bearing. Maximum allowed clearance is .20 to .25 mm (.008 to .010 in.).22. If the bearing is damaged, or if clearance exceeds maximum, the bearing should be replaced with a new part. 23. Attach an internal bearing puller to the bearing housing and vibratory bearing (13) as illustrated.24. Use the puller to remove vibratory bearing (13) from the bearing housing. If vibratory bearing condition will not permit removal by the above method, a torch may be used to cut the inner race and bearings. Weld a bead around the center of outer race. Pull outer
