Stay clear of all rotating and moving parts.Never attempt adjustments while the machine is moving or the engine is running unless otherwise specified.The machine must be parked on a level surface and the engine stopped.Attach a "Do Not Operate" or similar warning tag to the start switch and controls before servicing, repairing, or making adjustments to the machine.
The deflector plate must be adjusted so the edge of the plate is at the top of the radius of the nose piece.

Loosen locknuts (1) in order to adjust deflector plates (2) .
Use adjustment rods (3) to position deflector plate (2). Adjust the rods until the edge of the plate is at the top of the radius on the nose piece.
With the deflector plate in the proper position, tighten locknuts (1) to the proper torque.
