FLUID SPILLAGE CONTAINMENTCare must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the machine. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to "Tools and Shop Products Guide, NENG2500", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates. 1. Remove the bolts, and disconnect hoses (1), (3) and tube (4) from the quick drop and carry-check valve (2). 2. Fasten Tool (A) and a hoist on the quick drop and carry-check valve (2).3. Remove two bolts (5) and the quick drop and carry-check valve (2) from the bowl lift cylinder. The weight of the quick drop and carry-check valve (2) is 29 kg (64 lb).Install Quick Drop & Carry-Check Valve
1. Fasten Tool (A) and a hoist on the quick drop and carry-check valve (1).2. Put the quick drop and carry-check valve (1) in position on the bowl lift cylinder, and install the bolts that hold the quick drop and carry-check valve (1) in position. 3. Inspect the seals in hoses (2) and (3) and tube (4) for wear or damage, and use new parts as replacements.4. Make sure the seals are in position on the hoses and the tube.5. Connect hoses (2) and (3) and tube (4) to the quick drop and carry-check valve (1). Refer to the Topic "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities" in the "Operation and Maintenance Manual" for the proper filling procedure and the proper levels for the hydraulic system. Refer to "Tools and Shop Products Guide, NENG2500", for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids in Caterpillar machines. Dispose fluids according to local regulations and mandates. 1. Remove bolts (2), and separate quick drop valve (3) from carry-check valve (1). 2. Remove seals (5) from quick drop valve (3).3. Remove the bolt, retainer (4) and the ball from cover (6).4. Remove the seal from retainer (4).
Cover (6) is under spring force. To prevent possible personal injury, carefully remove cover (6) from quick drop valve (3).
5. Remove the bolts, cover (6), spacer (10), spring (9), plunger (8) and valve (7) from quick drop valve (3).6. Remove seals (11) from cover (6). 7. Remove the bolts, cover (12) and stop (13) from quick drop valve (3).8. Remove seal (14) from cover (12). 9. Remove spring (16) and valve (15) from carry-check valve (1). 10. Remove the bolts, retainer (21),
