Description Of 6V200 Hydraulic Wrench
1. Frame2. Hydraulic cylinder3. Lever arm4. Ratchet gear5. Square drive6. Reaction arm1 6V2081 Square Drive (5) is standard equipment and 6V2079 Square Drive (7) is available for limited clearance use. Holes (8) in the square drives permit setscrew (9) to hold the square drives in the ratchet gear.2 Bleed valve (10) will release oil if the pressure in the cylinder goes above approximately 42880 kPa (6200). Reaction arm (11) can be put in one of eight positions. Loosen bolt (12) until arm (11) can be moved. Engage dowel (13) in a desired hole (14) and tighten bolt (12).3 Decal (15) (Form SEHS7611) is a torque/pressure conversion table which changes pressure to torque in both English and metric units. In the cycle to loosen or tighten a fastener, two holes (16) in the guard permit the color red to be seen when the cylinder is fully extended or retracted. Also, a noise (click) can be heard as two levers (pawls) fall into place at the same time. Marks (17) have been made evenly on the drive sleeve of the hydraulic wrench so that the torque-turn method of tightening a fastener can be used.Schematic Of 6V200 Hydraulic Wrench
Use Of 6V200 Hydraulic Wrench
1 Arrows on ratchet arm guard (1) show on which side of 6V200 Hydraulic Wrench (2) the socket must be used to loosen or tighten the fastener. Also, the socket is on the same side as the torque/pressure conversion label to loosen and on the same side as the "Caterpillar Service Tool" label to tighten.2 To loosen a fastener, install 25.4 (1.0") drive socket (3) of of size on the fastener. Put hydraulic wrench (2) in position (see Step 1) with reaction bar (4) against a solid surface as shown and adjust driver (5) to fit in socket (3). The hydraulic wrench should be kept as nearly parallel to the fastened surface as possible. Connect hydraulic hoses (6) from the hydraulic pump to the hydraulic wrench.3 If the hydraulic pump has an outside pressure regulator (7), set the regulator so the pressure is limited to 42,880 kPa (6200). This will permit the application of maximum torque from the hydraulic wrench to the fastener. Operate lever (8) and the pump control to permit the cylinder rod to be extended. Just before the cylinder rod is fully extended, a sound (click) can be heard as the assurance lever (pawl) engages the next gear tooth. The red mark can be seen in front opening (9). Operate lever (8) and the pump control to retract the cylinder rod. Again, a sound (click) can be heard as the advance lever (pawl) engages the next gear tooth. The red mark can be seen in rear opening (10). Do the cycle until the fastener is loosened enough to be removed by a faster method. The socket is moved 40° each time the cylinder is cycled.4 Examples of other positions to loosen fasteners are shown above.5 To tighten a fastener, find the correct
