Remove six bolts (20). Remove retainer (21). Use Tool (D) in order to remove snap ring (22).

Position the torque converter, as shown. Remove 36 bolts (23).

Attach Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device. Remove turbine assembly (24) from housing (25). Turbine assembly (24) weighs 41 kg (90 lb).

Remove ring (26). Remove bearing race (27).
Use Tooling (C) and a suitable press in order to remove the bearing.

Use Tooling (F) in order to remove carrier assembly (28). The following components will be removed together: the stator, the impeller and carrier assembly (28).

Remove eight bolts (29). Remove stator assembly (31) from impeller (30).

Remove eight bolts (32). Remove gear (33).

Use Tooling (B) in order to drive the carrier assembly out of impeller (30).

Use Tooling (B) in order to drive bearing carrier (34) out of impeller (30).

Use Tooling (B) in order to drive carrier (25) out of bearing (36).

Remove gear (33) from carrier (35).

Remove two rings (38). Use Tool (D) in order to remove ring (39) from shaft (40).

Install Tooling (E). Tooling (E) must be seated on the shoulders of turbine (41). Tooling (E) must not contact the splines on shaft (40). Note: Tooling (E) must be used in order to support turbine (41) or damage to turbine (41) will result.

Use a suitable press in order to remove shaft (40) from turbine (41).
