Remove Water Pump
1. Drain the coolant from the cooling system. 2. Disconnect grease lines (2) from the block.3. Remove clip (3) from the grease line.4. Remove sound baffle sheet (1) from the machine.5. Remove sound baffle sheet assembly (4) from the machine. 6. Remove two bolts (5) and remove elbow (6) and gasket from the water pump. Remove the O-ring seal from the elbow. 7. Remove bolt (10) from the clip.8. Remove two bolts (8) and pull elbow (9) clear of the water pump.9. Loosen clamps (11). Slide hose (12) away from the water pump. 10. See the illustration for the correct location of the bolts that hold the water pump to the timing gear plate. Only the bolts with the identification (X) must be removed to remove the water pump.11. Remove water pump (7). The weight of the water pump is 60 lb. (27 kg).Install Water Pump
1. Put water pump (1) in position on the timing gear plate. Install the bolts that hold it. 2. Put hose (3) in position on the water pump. Tighten clamps (4).3. Install a new gasket on the elbow. Put the elbow (2) in position on the water pump. Install the bolts that hold the elbow to the water pump. Install the bolt that holds the clip to the elbow. 4. Install O-ring seal (6) on the elbow.5. Put a small amount of SAE 30 oil on the O-ring seal. Install a new gasket on the elbow. Put elbow (5) in position on the water pump. Install the bolts that hold the elbow to the water temperature regulator housing. 6. Install sound baffle sheet assembly (7) and sheet (8) on the machine.7. Connect grease lines (9) to the block. Install the clip that holds the lower grease line to the sound baffle sheet assembly.Disassemble Water Pump
start by:a) remove water pump 1. Remove bolts (1). Remove cover (2) from the water pump. 2. Remove O-ring seal (3) from the adapter.3. Remove adapter (4) from the housing. Remove the O-ring seal from the outside diameter of the adapter.4. Remove bolt and retainer that hold the impeller on the shaft. 5.
