Schematic of the engine shutdown relayThis diagnostic code is recorded when the Computerized Profiler Control ECM reads an above normal current of the solenoid circuit for the engine shutdown relay.The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed below:
The energizer circuit of the relay is shorted to ground.
The relay is faulty.
The ECM has failed. This is unlikely.Note: The following test procedure may create other diagnostic codes. Ignore these created diagnostic codes and clear these diagnostic codes when the original diagnostic code has been corrected. Ensure that the diagnostic code of CID 322 FMI F05 is active before performing this procedure.Note: Use the 146-4080 Digital Multimeter for the measurements in this procedure.System Response:The machine response is listed below:
A category 3 warning is shown on the Computerized Monitoring System (CMS) for the relay which affects the propulsion, steering or rotor control.
A fault affects the engine shutdown relay. This causes the engine to shutdown.Test Step 1. CHECK THE RELAY
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.
Ensure that the diagnostic code CID 322 FMI F06 is active.
While the shutdown relay is tested the emergency stop switch should not be activated.
Observe the status of the CID 322 FMI F06.
Disconnect the machine harness from the relay and the ECM.Expected Result:The CID 322 FMI F06 changes to CID 322 FMI F05 when the relay is disconnected. Results:
OK - CID 322 FMI F06 changes to CID 322 FMI F05 when the relay is disconnected. The circuit is correct.Repair: The relay has failed. Repeat this test "CHECK THE RELAY" in order to verify the failure of the relay. Replace the relay.STOP
NOT OK - CID 322 FMI F06 remains active. Proceed to Test Step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE ENERGIZER CIRCUIT OF THE RELAY FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness from the component.
Disconnect the machine harness connector from the ECM.
At the ECM machine harness connector, measure the resistance from the energizer circuit or activate signal contact 85 (wire L953-OR) to all possible sources of ground. The possible ground sources are contacts 2 and 39.Expected Result:Each resistance should be greater than 5000 ohms.Results:
OK - Each resistance is greater than 5000 ohms. The machine harness is correct. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NOT OK - Each resistance is not greater than 5000 ohms. There is a short in the machine harness. The short is between the wire for the energizer circuit 85 and the circuit with the low resistance measurement.Repair: Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness.STOPTest Step 3. CHECK IF THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE REMAINS
Inspect and clean the contacts of the harness connectors.
Reconnect all harness connectors.
Turn the key start switch to the ON position.
Enter diagnostic mode of the Computerized Profiler Control ECM and clear all inactive diagnostic codes.
Operate the machine.
Check the status of the CID 322 FMI F06.Expected Result:The CID 322 FMI F06 is active.Results:
OK - The CID 322 FMI F06 service code for the component is present. The fault has not been corrected. Repair: It is
