Information:

Do not spray ether directly into the air intake. Possible extensive damage to the engine could occur if ether is directed at the heater element while the air inlet heater is activated.
If the engine start switch is turned to the OFF position before attempting to start the engine, or if the engine does not start, allow the heater element to cool for two minutes before the next attempt to start the engine.
Engine Block Heater
The engine block heater warms the engine coolant to aid starting by reducing engine drag, and should be used when the engine is to be started at temperatures below 0° C (32° F).To operate the heater, plug heater cord (1) into a suitable 115 volt circuit for at least four hours before starting the tractor. The heater cord is stored in the cab storage compartment. Always remove the cord from the heater and return to the cab storage compartment when not in use. Doing so will help prevent damage to the cord due to sustained contact with hot engine components. You can leave the block heater in operation for periods longer than four hours without damage, but maximum starting ability is usually attained after the coolant has been heated for four hours.Hydraulic Oil Heater (If Equipped)
The optional hydraulic oil heater aids starting in cold temperatures by warming the oil used by the transmission, hydraulic pumps and motors, and is intended for use when the engine is to be started at temperatures below 0° C (32° F).To operate the heater, plug heater cord (2) into a suitable 115 volt circuit.
To avoid shocks or other injuries, never use an ungrounded or inadequate extension cord. Use a grounded three-wire extension cord with a three-wire plug which is rated for at least a 15 amp load, and protected by a suitable fuse or circuit breaker.Always inspect the block heater electrical cord for worn or frayed insulation before plugging into current.
Jump Start Cable Usage
Use the following procedure for jump starting.1. Turn off the engine start switch and all electrical accessories and lighting.2. Remove the red protective cap from positive (+) jump start post (1), located on the left fuel tank support.3. Connect one end of the positive jump start cable to the auxiliary battery positive (+) terminal and the other end to the tractor's positive (+) jump start post (1).4. Connect one end of the negative jump start cable to the auxiliary battery negative (-) terminal and the other end to the negative (-) tractor's jump start post (2), located on the left frame rail. Follow the starting procedure described earlier in the Starting the Engine section.5. When the engine starts, allow it to run at low idle speed with all electrical accessories and lighting switched off. This will help protect the alternator from damage due to extreme load changes.6. Disconnect the jump leads in reverse order to the connecting procedure.7. Reinstall the red protective cap onto the positive (+) jump start post by pressing firmly and using a slight twisting
