When submitting claim for Parts Stock Action, Use the appropriate 99Z as the s/n, the appropriate Service Letter Program Number as the Part number in the Part Causing Failure field, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Description Code.
The information supplied in this service letter may not be valid after the termination date of this program.Do not perform the work outlined in this Service Letter after the termination date without first contacting your Caterpillar product analyst.

PROBLEM
Certain Reman Cylinder Packs built from March 23, 2017 through November 16, 2017 may contain 516-9693 Cylinder Liner. Coolant and engine oil mixture may occur if the cylinder liner o-ring grooves crack if installed.
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect 10R6009, 10R8760, 10R8763, 10R9024, 10R9025, 10R9260, 20R0193, 20R0194, 20R0629, 20R0630, 20R0631, 20R0632, 20R0928, 20R0929, 20R2667, and 20R2668 for packaging label dates from D23M03Y17P68HL (March 23, 2017) through D16M11Y17P68HL (November 16, 2017) for the 516-9693 Cylinder Liner. If a suspect date code is found, inspect the cylinder liner and possibly replace the cylinder liner with 556-0701 Cylinder Liner using 200-3914 Piston Ring Compressor tool. Refer to the attached Rework Procedure.
SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
If the liner needs to be replaced 0.25 hours will be allowed.If liner needs to be replaced one 556-0701 Cylinder Liner will be allowed.
PARTS DISPOSITION
Handle the parts in accordance with your Warranty Bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
Inspect the packaging label date code. If it is from D23M03Y17P68HL (March 23, 2017) through D16M11Y17P68HL (November 16, 2017), open box and inspect liner part number. Reference Image1.1.1.
Inspect bottom of the liner for part number. Reference Image1.1.2
If the cylinder liner is 322-1126 or 556-0701, seal cylinder pack box and write ?INSP? on the packaging label and place the cylinder pack back into dealer parts stock.
If the cylinder liner is 516-9693, replace liner with 556-0701.
Apply clean engine oil to the cylinder liner bore, to the piston rings, and to the outer surface of the piston.
Use 200-3914 Piston Ring Compressor Ring Compressor to install piston and the connecting rod in the bottome of the cylinder liner.
Place cylinder pack back in VCI bag and fold bag over using supplied cardboard divider.
Seal cylinder pack box and write ?INSP? on the packaging label and place the cylinder pack back into dealer parts stock.
