1. Block wheels before starting adjustment procedure.2. Rotate adjuster starwheel (13) to get clearance of 1.00 mm (.039 in.) between shoes (12) and drum (11).3. Remove cotter (6) and pin (7). Remove lever (8) from its shaft.4. Pressurize air chamber (1) to 724 35 kPa (105 5 psi).5. Loosen nut (4) and adjust rod end (5) to get 93.0 mm (3.66 in.) at distance (A).6. Install lever (8), pin (7) and cotter (6). Turn rod (2) with nut (3) until free movement between rod end (5) and lever (8) is removed.7. Apply brake (remove air from chamber). The air chamber rod (5) should not move more than 37.0 mm (1.45 in.) at distance (B).8. Repeat Steps 3, 4 and 5 if the movement of air chamber rod (5) is more than 37.0 mm (1.45 in.) at distance (B).9. Make three successive stops in the third forward speed, using the secondary/parking brake.10. Let brake cool, then apply brake and check movement of air chamber rod (5). The rod should not move more than 37.0 mm (1.45 in.) at distance (B).11. Repeat Steps 3, 4 and 5 if the movement of air chamber rod (5) is more than 37.0 mm (1.45 in.) at distance (B).
