Installation Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Clean all parts and inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement. Lubricate the O-ring seals with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Position housing assembly (5) to the hydraulic tank. Install two bolts (18) that secure housing assembly (5) to the hydraulic tank. Tighten bolt (17). Position the O-ring seal and tube assembly (16) to housing assembly (5). Install the washers and two bolts (15) that secure tube assembly (16) to housing assembly (5) .

Position the O-ring seal and tube assembly (14) to housing assembly (5). Install the washers and two bolts (13) that secure tube assembly (14) to housing assembly (5) .

Install screen assembly (12) and filter element (11) to housing assembly (5) .

Install O-ring seal (9), spring (8) and housing (7) to cover (10). Install bolt (6) that secures housing (7) to the cover.

Position bypass filter (4) to housing assembly (5). Install four bolts (3) that secure bypass filter (4) to housing assembly (5) .

Position cover (2) to the hydraulic tank. Install three bolts (1) that secure cover (2) to the hydraulic tank.
Fill the hydraulic tank. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, SEBU7184 for the appropriate oil and the correct amount of oil.
