Information:
The "Position Sensing Cylinder (PSC)" measures the rod extension/retraction of the hydraulic cylinder for the bucket. The PSC uses a sensor that is integrated into the cylinder in order to make this measurement.Laser Catcher
The Laser Catcher has a laser detection window that sends the information about its elevation to the system. The laser catcher is mounted on the left side of the machine stick.

Refer to the following list for the type of location sensor that is used by the AccuGrade System:
MS990C ReceiverThe receivers are able to calculate their location by using information that is broadcast from GPS satellites that are orbiting the earth and correction signals that are sent from a base station. The MS990C receivers will also use information that is broadcast from GNSS satellites if a GNSS base station is used.ATS
Machine Target

MT900The ATS uses a robotic theodolite in order to track an Machine Target that is attached to the mast that is mounted on the excavator car body. The robotic theodolite reports the location of the Machine Target over a wireless link. The robotic theodolite must be configured into the system before the information that is provided by the robotic theodolite can be used for guidance.Other Components
In addition to the Display, Light Bars and Sensors, you may also find the following equipment connected to the system harness and configured into the system:Data Radio
TCxxx Radios

A data radio is used to receive data from a GPS reference station, or an ATS Instrument. The GPS/GNSS and the ATS Instrument require the data radio to be working correctly before the components can be used in the system. The GPS data radio can also be used to send files and receive files and other types of data from the office. There are three Data Radios available from Caterpillar. Refer to the following list for the Data Radios that are currently available from Caterpillar.
