Use dimension (X) to check the oil level in the torque converter sump with cold oil and the engine OFF.
If necessary, add oil. The torque converter oil and transmission oil is added at filler tube (3). Note: If the system has been drained, see Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Torque Converter and Transmission Oil - Change" for the proper procedure to add oil when the system is drained.Procedure To Check The Oil Level At Operating Temperature With The Engine ON

For normal maintenance, use dimension (Y) to check the hot oil level in the torque converter sump when the engine is operating.
Operate the engine with the temperature of the oil for the torque converter and for the transmission above 82 °C (180 °F).
The oil level should be within dimension (Y) of upper sight gauge (1) and lower sight gauge (2). Note: Do not add oil to the sump of the torque converter if the engine is operating.
If necessary, add oil. The torque converter oil and transmission oil is added at filler tube (3). Note: If the system has been drained, see Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Torque Converter and Transmission Oil - Change" for the proper procedure to add oil when the system is drained.
