At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure. The radiator and all lines to heaters or the engine contain hot water or steam. Any contact can cause severe burns. Look at the sight gauge to check the coolant level. The coolant level should be in the green range. If necessary, remove the fill cap only after the engine has been stopped and the cap is cool enough to remove with your bare hand. Remove the cooling system fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system condition contains alkali that can cause personal injury. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes and do not drink. Allow cooling system components to cool before draining.
Put identification on all lines, hoses, wires and tubes for installation purposes. Cap and plug all lines, hoses and tubes to prevent foreign material from entering the system. Drain all fluids in a suitable container for storage or disposal.1. Drain the engine coolant from the radiator. 2. Remove oil filter (1) from the base.3. Remove bolts and clips (2) and reposition wire harness (3). Cut all necessary wire straps. 4. Remove tube assembly (5) from the oil filter base.5. Remove bolts (4) and remove the oil filter base from the engine block. 6. Remove fitting (6), plug (7) and plug (8) from the oil filter base.7. Remove O-ring seal (9) from fitting (6).8. Remove O-ring seal (10) from plug (7).9. Remove spring (11) and valve (12) from the oil filter base.10. Remove O-ring seal (13) from plug (8).11. Remove spring (14) and valve (15) from the oil filter base. Install the oil filter and base in the reverse order.
