CYLINDER HEAD AND VALVE MECHANISM 1P6781 - Caterpillar

START BY:a) remove governor control rotochamber 1. Disconnect hoses (1) and (2) from the turbocharger and tube (3) from the elbow. Put caps in the openings of the hoses. 2. Remove bolts (4) that hold the clamps to the aftercooler.3. Disconnect eight fuel injection line nuts (6) at the valve cover bases.4. Use tool (A) to disconnect eight fuel injection line nuts (5) at the fuel injection pump housing. Remove the fuel injection lines from the engine.5. Put caps in the fuel injection lines, fuel injection pump and valve cover base adapters to keep dirt and foreign material out of the fuel system.Install Fuel Injection Lines
1. Make sure the fuel lines are clean and dry.2. If any fuel injection lines (1) were removed from clamps (3), put them back in their original position and tighten the clamps to a torque of 9.5 2.8 N m (84 25 lb.in.).3. Put fuel injection lines (1) into position on the engine as shown.4. Use tool (A) to tighten the fuel injection line nuts to a torque of 40 7 N m (30 5 lb.ft.).5. Install the bolts that hold clamps (2) to the aftercooler. 6. Connect tube (4) to the elbow and hoses (5) and (6) to the turbocharger.7. Remove (bleed) the air from the fuel system.END BY:a) install governor control rotochamber
