Remove & Install Water Outlet Manifold
Start By:a. remove water temperature regulator
At operating temperature, the engine cooling system is hot and under pressure. Steam can cause personal injury. Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap on the expansion tank is cool enough to touch with your bare hand. Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure. Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
1. Drain the level of the coolant below the water outlet manifold. Drain the coolant into a suitable container for storage or disposal. 2. Remove pipe (1) and tube (3).3. Remove bolt (2) and washer (not shown). 4. Disconnect two electrical connectors (6).5. Remove sensors (4) and (5) for clearance.6. Reposition wires (7) out of the way. 7. Remove bolt (8) and washer.8. Disconnect electrical connector (9). Aftercooler has been removed for photographic purposes only.9. Loosen clamp (10) and disconnect hose (11).10. Remove eight bolts (12) and washers.11. Remove two bolts (14).12. Remove water outlet manifold (13) and five gaskets.13. Check the condition of the five gaskets used for installation of the water outlet manifold. If the gaskets are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement. For installation of the water outlet manifold, reverse the removal steps.14. Fill the cooling system with coolant to the correct level.
