This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS4044" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Currently, the gusset plates joining bucket hinge plates terminate in a high stress area. Cracks in the bucket hinge plates may develop in this high stress area on some 994 Loaders. The gusset plates should be extended down further toward the bucket to tilt link joint by attaching plates.

PREPARATION:
1. Arc and grind bucket hinge plate (A) to gusset plate (B) weld off completely. Top weld will hold gusset plate in place.2. If cracks have developed in the bucket hinge plate (A), arc out the cracks followed by grinding to remove arcing debris.3. Make weld repairs so that the weld is above the surface of the bucket hinge plate (A).4. Grind flush.ATTACH EXTENSION PLATE:
5. Tack weld in place a 350mm x 100mm x 16mm extension plate (C) with a beveled end toward gusset plate (B). See Illustrations 2 and 3. The 350mm x 100mm x 16mm extension plate must be high strength 42,000 PSI minimum yield strength steel. (ASTM A572)
6. Tack weld runout tabs at both ends of the bevel grove as shown in Illustration 2. 7. Join gusset plate (B) to extension plate (C) with a 20mm bevel weld across entire bevel groove length shown in Illustration 2.8. Cut and grind off runout tabs.9. Remove and clean weld debris.10. Attach the joined gusset plate (B) and extension plate (C) to the bucket hinge plate (A) with a continuous 12mm fillet weld and 1.5mm penetration on both sides of each bucket hinge plate (A). See Illustration 3. Do not weld across the end of the extension plate. Do not allow weld to stop and start in between gussets plate (B) and bucket hinge plate (A).
