Disassembly Procedure
Start By:
Remove the idlers.

Use a drill and a 12.7 mm (.50 inch) drill bit in order to remove plug (4). Remove plug (4) and stopper (3) from the end of the shaft.
The shaft will be free to fall when the retainers are removed.
Remove twelve bolts (2) and retainer (1) from both sides of the idler.

Typical Example
Remove O-ring seal (6) from retainer (1) .Note: Place identification marks on the seals if the Duo-cone seal kits are used again. The seals can then be assembled and installed in the original position.
Put identification marks on the Duo-cone seal kit. Remove Duo-cone seal kit (5) from retainer (1) .

Put identification marks on Duo-cone seal kit (7). Remove Duo-cone seal kit (7) and toric stabilizer (8) from shaft (9) .

Pull shaft (9) out of the idler enough to fasten a hoist to the shaft.
Fasten a hoist to shaft (9). Remove the shaft from idler assembly (10). The weight of the shaft is approximately 32 kg (70 lb).
