This Program must be administered as soon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI1252" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair is done after failure, use "PI1252" as the Part Number, "7751" as the Group Number, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the June 14, 1994 Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Problem, Parts Needed, and Rework Procedure.
Any Affected Product that were reworked using the 1081170 Valve Group need to be reworked again using the new 1177761 Valve Group.
Problem
Debris in the brake accumulator charging valve may cause the valve to stick closed resulting in overcharging and possible failure of the brake accumulator on certain 990 Loaders.

Rework Procedure
Shut the engine off before performing this rework. Apply the brake pedal repeatedly (at least 20 times) to ensure the oil in the brake accumulator is exhausted and the brake oil pressure is at 0 psi. The parking brake will apply and the parking brake knob will move to the "ON" position.
Refer to the attached Illustrations for location of parts.
1. Replace the 1081170 Brake Accumulator Charging Valve with a new 1177761 Valve. To allow clearance for removal of the valve, the 6V8636 Fitting must be loosened first. 2. Connect the 1166399 Relief Valve to the 1173007 Angle using two 8T4970 Bolts and 9X8256 Washers.3. Remove Tee (B), Hose (A), and Hose (F) from the bulkhead fittings that go through Plate (D). Remove Nut (C).4. Install the 1173007 Angle to Plate (D) using Nut (C).5. Install the 7X3164 Adapter between Plate (D) and the 1166399 Valve using one 6V8398 Seal and one 3K0360 Seal.6. Install the 6V9837 Tee.7. Reconnect Hose (A), Hose (F), and Tee (B).8. Install the 6V8625 Elbow to the 1166399 Valve.9. Connect the 4E9284 Hose between the 6V9837 Tee and the 6V8625 Elbow.
