The gear pump (3) provides oil flow from the tank to the fan drive motor (1) in order to turn the fan. The air that is displaced by the fan flows through the hydraulic oil cooler and the radiator in order to cool the oil and the coolant. After turning the fan drive motor, the oil flows to the tank (4). The test port (2) allows you to measure the oil pressure from the gear pump.Gear Pump

The oil flows from the gear pump (7) to the fan drive motor (1). The oil also flows to the hydraulic circuit for the work tool coupler (B). Refer to Systems Operation, "Coupler Hydraulic System" for information on the operation of the work tool coupler. A test port (3) is installed after the fan drive pump (7) in order to measure the oil pressure from the fan drive pump.

The fan drive motor is a gear type motor.Oil from fan pump (7) flows into inlet port (10). The oil causes gears to mesh within the body of the motor. This causes the motor shaft to turn. This also causes the cooling fan to turn. Oil exits the fan drive motor through outlet port (8), and to the hydraulic tank.A relief valve (9) is located within the housing of fan motor (1). Relief valve (9) is set to dump excess oil to the hydraulic tank when the pressure of the oil exceeds the pressure setting of relief valve (9). The setting of the relief valve is 11500 kPa (1665 psi). Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Fan Drive Pump Pressure and Fan Drive Motor Speed - Test and Adjust" for information
