In order to prevent possible personal injury, release the air pressure from the air tank before disconnecting any components of the air system.
Release the air system pressure. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Tanks (Brake) - Purge".Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the removal procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.Note: Put identification marks on all hose assemblies and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to prevent contaminants from entering the system.

Disconnect hose assembly (8) from the adapter (5) on air horn (9) .
Remove nut (10), bolt (11), and washer (12) .
Remove nut (6), the lockwasher (7) and the washer (4) in order to remove air horn (9) and cushion (3) .Installation Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the installation procedure, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble.

Use nut (6), the lockwasher (7), washer (4),bolt (11), washer (12), and nut (10) in order to install air horn (9) and cushion (3). Tighten nut (6) to a torque of 50 8 N m (37 6 lb ft).
Connect hose assembly (8) to the adapter (5) on air horn (9) .
Charge the air pressure in the air tanks. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Starting with an External Air Supply" in order to refill the air tanks.
