ACTION REQUIRED
1. Fabricate one plate from steel that meets the requirements of ASTM A36 or ASTM A36M. This is structural steel that has a yield strength of 207 - 450 MPa (30022 - 65267 psi). The dimensions for the plate are shown in Image 1.
2. Remove the pushframe cover 2T0939 Cover Assembly from the scraper pushframe.
3. Locate the fabricated plate on top of the lugs that are used to mount the ejector cylinder to the scraper pushframe. Position it so that it rests against the 214-5403 Tube Assembly and so that it is positioned evenly between the top surfaces of both lugs. ( Make sure the paint is removed from the mating surfaces prior to welding.)
4. Weld the plate as shown by the illustrations. ( Paint over parts when finished.)
5. Install the 2T0939 Cover Assembly to the scraper pushframe.

The 214-5403 Tube Assembly, located in the Pushframe of the 2T-3558 scraper bowl needs to be reworked on the products listed below. The existing 214-5403 Tube Assembly can crack along the rear ejector cylinder mount. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 14Dec2006 when scheduling this service.
