G3532 (8BZ) EnginesDescription of Change: The standard EIS transformer groups and the CSA (Canadian Standards Association) EIS transformer groups now have a serviceable spring in the terminal assembly. (See Item 3 in the illustration.) If engine misfires are occurring, they may be caused by chemical and electrical corrosion of the terminal assembly spring. The spring or the terminal assembly may be replaced to correct this condition.
(1) Standard EIS 165-1589 Transformer Group.(2) Standard 169-4290 Terminal Assembly. (3) 129-4444 Spring.(4) 2-56 threaded hole in the 169-4290 Terminal Assembly.(5) 169-4295 Extension.(6) 2-56 threaded rod.Adaptable To: The 129-4444 Spring is now a serviceable part of the 169-4290 Terminal Assembly in the standard EIS 165-1589 Transformer Group and the CSA 122-0355 Terminal Assembly in the CSA EIS 165-1590 Transformer Group. The standard 169-4290 Terminal Assembly has a number 2-56 threaded hole (see Item 4 in the illustration) for terminal assembly removal from the standard EIS 165-1589 Transformer Group. A number 2-56 threaded rod (see Item 6 in the illustration) may be inserted into the standard 169-4290 Terminal Assembly through the 129-4444 Spring for removal. This would eliminate the need for removing the 169-4295 Extension to repair the terminal assembly.
The CSA 122-0355 Terminal Assembly is removed using a special 132-8263 Spanner Wrench. Upon installation, tighten the 122-0355 Terminal Assembly to 2.7 0.25 N m (23.9 2.2 lb in).
A tool designed for removal of the standard 169-4290 Terminal Assembly is being developed for future release.
