1. Check the Operation of the Cooling Fan
A. Connect Cat® Electronic Technician (ET) to the service tool connector.
B. Use Cat ET to check the value of the fan control parameters.
Cooling Fan Parameters
Result: The parameter is not programmed to allow the fan to operate.
Repair: The ECM is not controlling the cooling fan. Refer to the troubleshooting information for the chassis to troubleshoot the cooling fan.
Result: The parameter is programmed to allow the fan to operate.
Repair: The ECM is controlling the cooling fan. Refer to Troubleshooting, "Cooling Fan Control - Test" to troubleshoot the cooling fan.
