Fasten a suitable lifting device and Tooling (F) to hub (16). Put the hub in position in gear (11). Install ring (17) .

Put gear (11) and hub (16) in position in the final drive as an assembly with Tooling (E) .
Install Tooling (D) in order to hold the hub and gear in place in the final drive.

Note: Use a driver that is nearly the same diameter as the outside diameter of the metal seal case. Do not use excessive force on a fully seated seal. Excessive force may deform the seal case. Deforming the seal case may cause the seal to leak.
Use Tooling (G) and install seal (15) in the hub with the lip of the seal toward the inside, as shown.
Install 20 pins (14) in the hub.

Install thrust bearing (13) in retainer (10) .

Put retainer (10) in position and install bolts (12). Tighten bolts (12) to a torque of 135 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).
Remove Tooling (C) and (D) .

There must be metal to metal contact between the final drive hub and retainer (10) .
Use a feeler gauge and measure the gap between the pins in hub (16) and retainer (10). The distance between the pins and retainer (9) should be 0.08 0.05 mm (.003 .002 inch).

Install bearing (9) in retainer (10) .

Install Tooling (B) in order to hold sun gear (8) in position in the planetary carrier.

Fasten a suitable lifting device and Tooling (A) to planetary carrier (3) .
The O-ring seals must be in position on the planetary carrier and in the final drive hub.Note: The drain plug on the planetary carrier must be aligned with the small O-ring seal in the final drive hub.
Align the planetary carrier gears with the gear in the final drive.
Install three bolts in order to hold the planetary carriers in position when Tooling (A) is removed.
Remove Tooling (A) and (B) .

Install the remaining bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 1050 150 N m (775 110 lb ft).Note: Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for all fluid capacities and proper filling procedures.End By: Install the axles.
