Remove the engine oil pump. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine Oil Pump - Remove".
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Use Tooling (A) to remove drive gear (1) from the shaft of engine oil pump (2) . Remove the key from the shaft.

Personal injury can result from parts and/or covers under spring pressure.Spring force will be released when covers are removed.Be prepared to hold spring loaded covers as the bolts are loosened.
Remove retainer (7) .
Remove spring (6) and bypass valve (5) from engine oil pump (2) .
Remove cover (4) .
Remove idler gear and drive gear (3) .
Use Tooling (B) to remove the bearings from engine oil pump (2) .
