When using the scarifier, the frame must be straight.When carrying the scarifier in the fully raised position, do not allow the scarifier beam to contact the drawbar.Raise the scarifier when turning, to avoid damage to the teeth.

Enter the material gradually, while you travel in a straight line.

Use all shanks in light material. Use fewer shanks in heavier material.

Keep the scarifier at the depth that is allowed by conditions. Match the travel speed to the work load.Work downhill on grades.

Dig under the paving surface and lift the scarifier in order to break up the paving surface.

If the material is hard, angle the front scarifier. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Scarifier Digging Angle" in order to set the scarifier digging angle.When you are level grading, all the teeth can remain in the front scarifier.

When you operate the blade in reverse or when you are ditching, remove all the front scarifier teeth and set the lift links (1) at the shortest distance. Use the scarifier control and raise the scarifier to the highest position.When dirt accumulates on the scarifier, clean the scarifier.
