If the vessel that is being serviced is equippedwith the Caterpillar Marine Power Display (MPD) and DOES NOT contain 1986877injectors, install software "Group A".
Engines with serial numbers less than 9KS01416may not contain the 1986877 injectors. However, some engines may have hadthe 1986877 injectors installed in the field (after production). When servicingthese engines access SIMS in order to verify that the injectors were notinstalled.
If the vessel that is being serviced is equippedwith the Caterpillar Marine Power Display (MPD) and DOES NOT contain 1590835(0R9420) injectors, install software "Group B".
Engines with serial numbers less than 9PW00402may not contain the 1590835 injectors. However, some engines may have hadthe 1590835 (0R9420) injectors installed in the field (after production).When servicing these engines access SIMS in order to verify that the injectorswere not installed.
If the vessel that is being serviced is equippedwith the Caterpillar Marine Power Display (MPD) and 1986877 injectors,install software "Group C".
Engines with serial numbers greater than 9KS01416should indicate the 1986877 injector on the engine data tag. Some enginesmay have had the 1986877 injectors installed in the field (after production).When servicing these engines, verify the installation of the injectorsin SIMS.
If the vessel that is being serviced is equippedwith the Caterpillar Marine Power Display (MPD) and 1590835 (0R9420) injectors,install software "Group D".
Engines with serial numbers greater than 9PW00402should indicate the 1590835 injector on the engine data tag. Some enginesmay have had the 1590835 (0R9420) injectors installed in the field (afterproduction). When servicing these engines, verify the installation of theinjectors in SIMS.
If the vessel that is being serviced is equippedwith the Caterpillar Marine Power Display (MPD) DUAL ECM, and 1590835 (0R9420)injectors, install software "Group E".
Engines with serial numbers greater than 9PW00402should indicate the 1590835 injector on the engine data tag. Some enginesmay have had the 1590835 (0R9420) injectors installed in the field (afterproduction). When servicing these engines, verify the installation of theinjectors in SIMS.
If one of the following Flash File part numberswere installed, the Fuel Ratio Control (FRC) map selection (see illustration4.) must be verified/changed:
2187500, 2187501, 2187502, 2187503, 2187504,2187512, 2187513, 2187514, 2187515, 2187516, 2187518, 2187519, 2187520,2187521, 2187522, 2187523, 2187524.

If one of the listed part numbers was installed,access the FRC map selection.
If the current map selected is one (1), then changethe map to read three (3).
If the current map selected is two (2), then DONOT change the map selection.
If the current map selected is three (3), thenchange the map to read one (1).
If one of the following Flash File part numberswere installed, the power rating selection must be verified/changed:
2187488, 2187489, 2187492, 2187501, 2187502,2187512, 2187513, 2187514, 2187515, 2187517, 2187519, 2187520, 2187521,2187522, 2187525.
The Marine Power Display (MPD) has three configurationpins that are located on the Marine Power Display?s twelve-pin connector.On previous MPD flash file releases (213-1907 MPD Flash File or earlier),configuration pin 1 and configuration pin 2 were connected to configurationpin 3. These connections were responsible for enabling the starboard display,the port display, and the center display.
