If administered beforefailure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" asthe SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as theWarranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code. The information supplied in this serviceletter may not be valid after the termination date of this program. 9L-8439 oil fill cap will not stay inplace. The tube material for the filler tube was changed in Oct 1999 tohave a thinner wall tube for a cost reduction. This was a change levelchange to the tube assembly piece part 7E4035. The 9L-8439 filler plugwas not changed in the higher level assembly so the 9L-8439 plug is tooloose in the tube.AFFECTED PRODUCT

The affected engines will have a fillertube on the left side of the engine with inside diameter of 34.8 MM or1 and 3/8 inch. The 34.8 MM ID tube is part number 241-2942. This tuberequires the 068-4497 filler tube cap. Some will have the 7E-4035 tubewhich can have a 34.8 MM ID or a 33.8 MM ID these engines will requirethe 068-4497 or the 9L-8439 filler cap.SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
