( 1 ) Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) Service Tool and Software CD, NETG5057 are required when using the communication adapter.Activating The Ride Control System
Ensure that the key start switch is in the OFF position.
Connect the communications adapter to the computer.
Connect the communications adapter to the diagnostic service tool connector.
Turn the key start switch to the RUN position.
Start Cat® Electronic Technician (Cat ET) Service Tool.Cat ET will initiate communications with the ECMs on the machine.
Select the appropriate ECM.
Go to the "Service" Menu. Select "Configuration". Click "OK". Set the ride control configuration to "ENABLED".
Exit the software program (ET).Note: The feature will be activated on the next power cycle.Adjusting the Ride Control Activation Speed

(F) Service connector
Connect the laptop computer to service connector (F) in the cab.Note: Cat ET will allow the engagement speed for the ride control to be adjusted in 1 km/h (0.6 mph) increments. The engagement speed may be adjusted between 2 km/h (1.2 mph) to 23 km/h (14.3 mph). The factory setting for the engagement speed is 10 km/h (6.2 mph).
Open the software program (Cat ET). Select the transmission from the "ECM Selector" menu.

Select the "Service" menu item from the toolbar. Select the "Configuration" menu item.
The configuration of the ride control must be set to the "ENABLED" setting before an adjustment can be made to the engagement speed. Adjust the configuration of the ride control accordingly.Note: Activation of the software for the ride control without first installing the hardware for the ride control will introduce diagnostic codes.

Highlight the option for the ride control activation speed on the configuration screen. Click on the "Change" button in the bottom left of the screen. Enter the new value for the setting of the engagement speed. Click the "OK" button.
Click the "Yes" button.
The value of the engagement speed for the ride control has been changed.
Close the software program (Cat ET). Shut down the laptop computer. Disconnect the computer from the service connector in the cab.Charging the Accumulator
