Remove thrust washer (4), bolts (5), and plate (6) from the end of the trunnion. Remove the thrust washer that is behind plate (6) .

Fasten a suitable lifting device to rear trunnion support (3). Remove the rear trunnion support from the trunnion. The weight of rear trunnion support (3) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb).

Remove lip seal (7) and sleeve bearing (8) from the rear trunnion support.

Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Apply Tooling (B) on the mating surface between trunnion (10) and the axle housing.
Install trunnion (10) and bolts (9). Tighten bolts (9) to a torque of 300 40 N m (220 30 lb ft).

Use a suitable press and Tooling (A) to install sleeve bearing (8) in the rear trunnion support.

Use Tooling (A) to install lip seal (7) in the rear trunnion support.

Fasten a suitable lifting device to rear trunnion support (3). Install the rear trunnion support on the trunnion. The weight of rear trunnion support (3) is approximately 45 kg (100 lb).
Apply Tooling (C) on the two thrust washers.

Install thrust washer, plate (6), thrust washer (4), and bolts (5). Tighten bolts (5) to a torque of 570 80 N m (420 60 lb ft).

Install cover (2) and bolts (1) on rear trunnion support (3). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 270 40 N m (200 30 lb ft).End By: Install the oscillating axle. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Oscillating Axle (Rear) - Install".
