Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the work tools have been lowered to the ground, and the oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and this helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.
Drain the hydraulic oil from the hydraulic system into a suitable container for storage or disposal.

Lower the implements to the ground and relieve the system pressure at the hydraulic oil tank. Move the bulldozer control levers to the Float position.
Remove bolts (1) and guard assembly (2) .

Remove two hydraulic hose assemblies (3) from the tilt cylinder.

Remove the bolts and retainers (4) and (5) .Note: Remove the shim pack that is located under retainer (4) .

Attach a lifting sling to the tilt cylinder.
Install a 9U-5986 Eyebolt (6) to the upper pin and remove the pin.
Remove hose bracket (7) .
Remove pin (8). Remove the tilt cylinder. The weight of the tilt cylinder is 51 kg (112 lb).Installation Procedure
Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before assembly, all parts should be thoroughly cleaned in cleaning fluid. Allow the parts to air dry. Wiping cloths or rags should not be used to dry parts. Lint may be deposited on the parts which may cause later trouble. Inspect all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.

Attach a lifting sling to the tilt cylinder. The weight of the tilt cylinder is51 kg (112 lb).
Install the tilt cylinder in the original location. Install pin (8) .
Install hose bracket (7) .
Use a 9U-5986 Eyebolt to install the upper pin. Install the pin and remove the eyebolt.

Note: Install the shim pack that is located under retainer (4) .
Install the bolts and retainers (4) and (5) .

Install two hydraulic hose assemblies (3) to the tilt cylinder.

Install guard assembly (2) and bolts (1) .
Fill the implement hydraulic system. Refer to the appropriate Operation and Maintenance Manual for the correct procedure.
