PROBLEM
Certain proportional switch assemblies may fail on Motor Graders if put into service. The switch assemblies are used for control of certain auxiliary hydraulic circuits.
ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect all 358-4931 Proportional RPR Switch Assemblies and 358-4932 Proportional RPR Switch Assemblies in dealer parts stock.
Refer to Image 1 for the circled location of the date code on the switch assembly.
The date code is a four digit number such as "1334". The first two digits indicate the year of manufacture. The last two digits indicate the week of manufacture. The date code 1334 indicates that the switch was manufactured during the 34th week of 2013.
If the 358-4931 Proportional RPR Switch Assembly or 358-4932 Proportional RPR Switch Assembly has a date code prior to "1334", remove the part from dealer parts stock.
If the 358-4931 Proportional RPR Switch Assembly or 358-4932 Proportional RPR Switch Assembly has date code of "1334" or later, mark the package to indicate that the part has been inspected according to this program and return the part to dealer parts stock.
