1. Remove the cotter pins from the pins at each end of the tie rod. Loosen nuts (1) and (3) until they are even with the bottom of the pins.2. Hit the nuts with a hammer to break the pins loose from their tapers. Remove nuts (1) and (3).3. Remove steering tie rod (2).Install Steering Tie Rod
1. Put steering tie rod (4) in position on the wheel spindle housing. Install the nuts on pins (3) and (5). Tighten the nuts to a torque of 150 lb.ft. (203 N m). Tighten the nut more if needed to put the cotter pin groove (slot) in the nut in alignment with the hole in the pin. Install the cotter pins.2. Make a toe-in adjustment to the front wheels at locations (1) and (2). Make an adjustment of the lengths of the rods in the steering cylinders when the toe-in for the front wheels is correct.
