Removal Procedure
Start By:
Install the truck body retaining cable. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Truck Body Retaing Cable - Remove and Install".
The space between the body and the frame becomes a zero clearance area when the body is lowered. Failure to install the retaining cable can result in injury or death to personnel working in this area.
Install suitable wheel chocks.

Remove bolts (1) in order to remove front cover assembly (2).
Remove bolts (1) in order to remove rear cover assembly (6).

Use a suitable lifting device to support the pump drive shaft (4). The weight of the pump drive shaft (4) is approximately 23 kg (53 lb).
Remove bolts (3) from pump drive shaft (4). Discard bolts (3).

Remove bolts (5) from pump drive shaft (4). Discard bolts (5).

Use a suitable pry bar to compress pump drive shaft (4).

Remove pump drive shaft (4). Installation Procedure

Use a suitable lifting device in order to install pump drive shaft (4). The weight of the pump drive shaft (4) is approximately 23 kg (53 lb).

Install new bolts (5) to pump drive shaft (4). Torque four bolts (5) to a torque of 135 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).

Install new bolts (3) to pump drive shaft (4). Torque four new bolts (3) to a torque of 135 20 N m (100 15 lb ft).

Install bolts (1) in order to install rear cover assembly (6).
Install bolts (1) in order to install front cover assembly (2). End By:
