Remove the air compressor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Compressor - Remove and Install".

Remove nut (3) and the hard washer that holds air compressor drive gear (2) to air compressor (1).

Install Tooling (A) to air compressor drive gear (2). Use Tooling (A) in order to remove air compressor drive gear (2) from air compressor (1).

Remove O-ring seal (4) from the tube. Remove O-ring seal (5) from the adapter for the compressor drive (6).
Remove the adapter for the compressor drive (6) from air compressor (1).

Remove integral seal (7) from air compressor (1). Installation Procedure
Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary.
Lubricate all of the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

Install integral seal (7) to air compressor (1).

Install the adapter for the compressor drive (6) to air compressor (1).
Install O-ring seal (5) to the adapter for the compressor drive (6). Install O-ring seal (4) to the tube.

Install air compressor drive gear (2) to air compressor (1).
Install nut (3) and the hard washer that holdsthe air compressor drive gear (2) to air compressor (1).
Tighten nut (3) to a torque of 205 27 N m (150 20 lb ft). Tap nut (3) with a hammer and tighten nut (3) to a torque of 205 27 N m (150 20 lb ft). End By:
Install the air compressor. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Air Compressor - Remove and Install".
