At the machine harness connector J1, measure the resistance between contact J1-9 (wire M948-BR) and frame ground. Expected Result:The resistance is less than 5 ohms. Results:
OK - The resistance is less than 5 ohms. The circuit resistance is correct. Proceed to Test Step 4.
NOT OK - The resistance is greater than 5 ohms. The circuit resistance is not correct. The harness is open. Repair: Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness. Stop.Test Step 4. CHECK THE SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR THE RIGHT SIDE ATTACHMENT PEDAL.
Remove the jumper that was placed in the previous test.
At the machine harness connector for the right side attachment pedal, place a jumper between contact 3 (wire M960-PU) and frame ground.
At the machine harness connector J1, measure the resistance between contact J1- 16 (wire M960-PU) and frame ground. Expected Result:The resistance is less than 5 ohms. Results:
OK - The resistance is less than 5 ohms. The circuit resistance is correct. Proceed to Test Step 5.
NOT OK - The resistance is greater than 5 ohms. The circuit resistance is not correct. The harness is open. Repair: Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness. Stop.Test Step 5. CHECK THE MACHINE HARNESS FOR A SHORT CIRCUIT.
Remove the jumper wire that was placed in the previous test.
At the machine harness connector J1, measure the resistance between contact J1-16 (wire M960-PU) and frame ground. Expected Result:The resistance is greater than 5000 ohms. Results:
OK - The resistance is greater than 5000 ohms. The resistance is correct. Proceed to Test Step 6.
NOT OK - The resistance is less than 5000 ohms. The resistance is not correct. The harness is shorted to ground. Repair: Repair the machine harness or replace the machine harness. Stop.Test Step 6. CHECK THE HARNESS FOR A SHORT IN THE CIRCUIT FOR THE RIGHT SIDE ATTACHMENT PEDAL.
Measure the resistance between the circuits that are listed:
At the machine harness connector of the right side attachment pedal, measure the resistance between contact 3 (wire M960-PU) and the case of the right side attachment pedal.
At the machine harness connector of the right side attachment pedal, measure the resistance between contact 1 (wire M947-OR) and the case of the right side attachment pedal.
At the machine harness connector of the right side attachment pedal, measure the resistance between contact 2 (wire M948-BR) and the case of the right side attachment pedal. Note: Use an unpainted surface of the right side attachment pedal for this measurement. Expected Result:The resistance is greater than 5000 ohms. Results:
OK - The resistance is greater than 5000 ohms. The resistance of the circuit is correct. Proceed to Test Step 7.
NOT OK - The resistance is less than 5000 ohms. The resistance of the circuit is not correct. The right side attachment pedal has failed. Repair: Replace the right side attachment pedal.
At the machine harness connector of the right side attachment pedal, place a jumper between contact 2 (wire M948-BR) and frame ground.
