PROBLEM
The existing left side equalizer bar (E-Bar) end pin retaining bolt can fail on certain 583T and PL83 Pipelayers. If the existing end pin retaining bolt fails, it may result in the end pin to walk out of the E-bar and machine frame bores and may cause resultant damage to the end pin, E-bar, or machine frame.

Refer to the Service Manual if/as necessary and see Special Instruction REHS8539, "Rework Procedure for the E-Bar Pin on Certain 583T and PL83 Pipelayers" for instructions on installing the new end pin retainer cap.

The 2.0 hours listed above are to install the Cap on machines per REHS8539 when the 224-5806 Pin, 7X-2574 Bolt, and 7V-2804 Washer are not being replaced.
$100 USD is allowed for labor and materials to fabricate the Cap. Claim outside expenses at cost. Retain a copy of the invoice in the dealer's records for audit purposes.
If required, an additional 6.0 hours labor are allowed to replace the 224-5806 Pin, 7X-2574 Bolt, and 7V-2804 Washer as outlined in REHS8539.
