Rework Procedure
1. Lower the boom to the ground and relieve the pressure in the pilot system and hydraulic system. Remove (2) 8X3493 Hose Assembly (grease lines) from the boom cylinder rod eyes (see attached sheet 3 of 5).2. Unpin the boom cylinder rod ends from the swing frame to gain access to the swing frame for welding. Install the rod end PIN into the swing frame bores to provide an additional heat sink to minimize bore distortion.3. Inspect the area between the swing frame casting and bottom plate under the boom cylinder mounts for cracks. If cracks are present, they must be repaired by gouging the cracks, welding per the note and grinding smooth.4. Prepare the surface of the swing frame casting to be welded.5. Locate and tack (2) 1316515 Plates flush with the inside face of the support casting "eye". Place one pass of weld at the location marked " WELD 1" (typical right and left side). Important: Let each pass of weld cool 5 to 7 minutes or until the temperature returns to ambient.Cooling rate can be increased by blowing compressed air over the weld. Each pass of weld needs to cool to prevent the bores/bearings in the swing frame from distorting from heat (this method has been successful at the factory). Do not use water to cool the welds since it will quench the weld causing material hardness problems.Continue alternating a pass of weld on each side of
