Move the speed hold control lever to the OFF position (if equipped).

Move the transmission lock lever to the LOCKED position.Note: The engine will not start unless the transmission lock lever is in LOCKED position.

Move the governor control lever to one-third of the full travel before you start the engine.

Turn the engine start switch key to the START position.
Release the engine start switch key after the engine starts.
After every 30 seconds of engine cranking, allow two minutes for the starting motor to cool before cranking again.
When the engine starts, return the governor control lever to LOW IDLE and allow the engine to warm up. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "After Starting Engine" .
