Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Disconnect wiring harness (1) from coolant temperature sensor (2) .
Remove coolant temperature sensor (2) from the water temperature regulator housing.
Remove the O-ring seal from coolant temperature sensor (2) .Installation Procedure

Typical exampleNote: Check the condition of the O-ring seal. If the O-ring seal is worn or damaged, use a new part for replacement.
Install the O-ring seal on the coolant temperature sensor.
Install coolant temperature sensor (2). Tighten the coolant temperature sensor to a torque of 20 5 N m (177 44 lb in).
Connect wiring harness connector (1) to coolant temperature sensor (2) .
