Information:

the following procedure in order to flash program the implement Electronic Control Module (ECM). The implement ECM is flashed to upgrade the software. Flash programming of the implement ECM must also be done if the implement ECM has been replaced. The Caterpillar ® Electronic Technician (CAT ET) contains the program WinFlash. WinFlash is used to load software into the ECM. The following procedure is used in order to FLASH software into the implement ECM.Procedure
Connect the Data Link Cable between the Communication Adapterand the Electronic Technician.
Connect the Data Link Cable between the Communication Adapter and the diagnostic connector of the machine.
Turn the disconnect switch and the key start switch to the ON position.
Use WinFlash to load the software.
Perform the necessary calibrations. For information on performing calibrations, refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Calibration".
