UPS Extended Storage Requirements
Operating Temperatures
Operating range : 0.0 °C (32.0 °F) to 40.0 °C (104.0 °F)Outside Storage
The UPS should not be stored outside for any amount of time.Short Term Storage Conditions
Temperature range for short-term storage : −25.0 °C (−13.0 °F) to 70.0 °C (158.0 °F), humidity 5% to 95% non-condensing. These conditions cover the time when the equipment is in transit from the factory to the dealer or from the dealer to the customer site. The total amount of time the UPS should be stored under these conditions is 2 months.Long Term Storage Conditions
Temperature range for long-term storage : 0.0 °C (32.0 °F) to 40.0 °C (104.0 °F), humidity 5% to 75% non-condensing. The UPS can be stored under these conditions for up to 1 year without any additional concerns. If the UPS is to be stored for longer than 1 year, the procedures listed under "Extended Storage Conditions" must be performed. Records of the procedure must be maintained to insure warranty coverage. Extended Storage Conditions
The following is required and to be performed annually.
A thorough visual inspection of the system should be made to inspect for any components that might be adversely affected due to the storage environment.
Change the oil in the vacuum pump. Run the vacuum pump for a minimum of 4 hours in order to lubricate the internal seals. The procedure will ensure that the vacuum pump is functioning properly.Note: The oil is critical to vacuum pump performance. Used oil or contaminated oil could result in more time waiting for vacuum at start-up. Used oil or contaminated oil could result in the inability to reach the required levels of vacuum in order to run the flywheel.Note: The pump is internally configured for 240 V operation. To operate the vacuum pump prior to energizing the UPS, temporarily disconnect the 240 V internal wiring to the receptacle plug. The plug is on the right side of the pump. Connect a 240 V line cord from an external source. Ensure that you have removed the external 240 V source. Ensure that you have connected the internal 240 V wiring to the vacuum pump receptacle prior to energizing the input terminal of the UPS. Configuring the vacuum pump for 120 V operation will void the warranty of the pump.Note: The UPS vacuum pump has a tamper-proof label. The tamper-proof label prohibits anyone from configuring the pump to use a 120 V source. Attempts have been made to use a 120 V source to operate the vacuum pump during the commissioning procedure. A corrupt tamper-proof label will void any warranty claim associated with the vacuum pump.
