Always wear goggles when working on air conditioning systems. The system is under pressure at all times, engine running or not. Escaping Freon-12 (C C12 F2 Dichloro Difluoro Methane) can cause freezing of human flesh.DO NOT SMOKE WHILE WORKING ON AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEMS. Inhaling Freon-12 through any smoking material, although not toxic or flammable, can generate phosgene gas and cause violent illness. ALSO, HEAT MUST NEVER BE APPLIED TO A CHARGED SYSTEM. See Air Conditioning & Heating Service Manual, Form No. SENR3334, for more information on removal and installation of lines and refrigerant from the system.

Later air conditioning compressor could be different from the one in the photo.2. Remove freon from air conditioning system using freon reclaimer.3. Loosen idler mounting bolt (4) (not shown).4. Remove air compressor V-belt (5).5. Remove two air conditioning lines (2) (not shown).6. Disconnect electrical connection (3).7. Remove four bolts (1) (not shown).8. Remove air conditioning compressor (6). Check O-rings and seals for wear and damage before installation, replace if necessary. For installation of the air conditioning compressor, reverse the removal steps.9. Adjust V-belts to correct tension. Refer to Specifications module, Form No. SENR5545 for correct belt tension.10. Fill the air conditioning system with freon to correct pressure level.
