Start By:
Remove the lockup clutch and the solenoid valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, RENR3402, "Lockup Clutch and Solenoid Valve - Remove". The information is in this manual.

Remove the nut in order to remove solenoid coil (1) from valve housing (3). Remove O-ring seals (2) from valve housing (3) .

Remove the bolts that secure cover (4) to valve housing (3). Remove cover (4) from valve housing (3) .

Remove the bolts that secure body (5) to valve housing (3) .

Remove spring (14), orifice (13), and O-ring seal (12) from body (5) .
Remove inner spring (10), outer spring (10), shims (9), inner piston (8), and outer piston (8) from body (5) .
Remove access plug (11) and the O-ring seal from body (5) .
Remove the bolts that secure cover (6) to body (5). Remove O-ring seal (7) from cover (6) .

Remove spool (18) and stop (19) from valve housing (3) .
Remove slug (17) from spool (18) .
Remove access plug (15) and spring (16) from valve housing (3). Remove the O-ring seal from access plug (15) .

Use Tooling (A) in order to remove the snap ring from spool (18) .

Remove retainer (22), spring (21), and valve ball (20) from spool (18) .

Remove access plug (24) and valve (23) from valve housing (3). Remove the O-ring seal from access plug (24) .

Remove the bolts with the clip that secure cover (25) and spring (28) to valve housing (3). Note the position of the clip.
Remove O-ring seal (27) and shims (26) from cover (25) .
Remove access plug (31) and spool (29) from valve housing (3) .
Remove the O-ring seal from access plug (31) .
Remove slug (30) from spool (29).

Use Tooling (A) in order to remove the snap ring from spool (29) .

Remove retainer (34), spring (33), and valve ball (32) from spool (29) .

Remove nipple assembly (36), dust cap (37), and access plugs (35) from valve housing (3). Remove the O-ring seals from access plugs (35) and nipple assembly (36) .
