Always wear goggles when working on air conditioning systems. The system is under pressure at all times, engine running or not. Escaping refrigerant R-12 (CCl2F2 Dichlorodifluoromethane) or refrigerant R-134A can cause freezing of human flesh. Do not smoke while working on air conditioning systems. INHALING REFRIGERANT R-12 OR REFRIGERANT R-134A THROUGH ANY SMOKING MATERIAL, ALTHOUGH NOT TOXIC OR FLAMMABLE, CAN GENERATE LETHAL PHOSGENE GAS AND CAUSE VIOLENT ILLNESS OR DEATH. ALSO, HEAT MUST NEVER BE APPLIED TO A CHARGED SYSTEM. 1. Purge the air conditioning system.2. Disconnect electrical connection (1).3. Loosen clamp bolt (7) and position V-belt (3) out of the way.4. Loosen bolt (4) and position two lines (6) out of the way.5. Remove two bolts (5), washers and nuts.6. Remove two bolts (2), washers and nuts.7. Remove air conditioning compressor (8). Check O-rings and seals for wear and damage before installation, replace if necessary. For installation of the air conditioning compressor, reverse the removal steps.8. For charging the air conditioning system, refer to the Air Conditioning And Heating Service Manual SENR3334.
